Health insurance · Clarity for everyday life

Your health. Your life.
A clearer choice.

Choosing health insurance means looking at more than a monthly price. Harris Advisors helps you make sense of the options, so you can ask informed questions about the care you use and the coverage you need.

Before you compare

Start with how you use care.

01

Your doctors and prescriptions

Check the provider network, covered drug list and pharmacy options for each plan you’re considering.

02

The full cost

Look at premiums alongside deductibles, copayments, coinsurance and the plan’s out-of-pocket limit.

03

The details that matter to you

Read the plan’s benefits and exclusions. Ask how referrals, out-of-network care and the services you expect to use are handled.

A guide to plan networks

Make sense of the letters.

You may see these network types as you compare plans. Availability and the details of each plan vary by location and insurer.

HMO

Usually covers care within its network, with exceptions for emergencies. Check the plan’s rules for choosing doctors and seeing specialists.

PPO

Typically lets you see providers outside its network at a higher cost. In-network care generally costs less.

EPO

Generally covers care only within its network, except in an emergency. Look closely at the doctors and facilities included.

POS

Typically offers lower costs within its network and requires a primary care doctor’s referral to see a specialist.

A little clarity

A few questions.
A clearer next step.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to get in touch.

Where should I start?

Start with the people who need coverage, the care you expect to use and your budget. A list of your doctors and prescriptions can make comparing plans more useful.

Can I compare plans online?

Yes. The link below opens Harris Advisors’ existing HealthSherpa connection, where you can explore available plans. Contact us if you would like to talk through your questions.

Does a lower premium always mean lower costs?

No. The amount you pay when you use care also matters. Compare the plan’s deductible, copayments and coinsurance alongside its monthly premium.

Are all of these plan types available to me?

Plan availability depends on your location and the insurer. Review the specific options available to you and each plan’s current documents.
